The Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission World Championship is currently regarded as the pinnacle of No-Gi grappling competitions. Founded in 1998 by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this competition attracts various martial arts disciplines such as Judo, Sambo, Wrestling, and BJJ. ADCC’s hybrid ruleset differentiates it from pure BJJ competitions, prioritizing ground control and submissions over the traditional points system. This shift has led to more aggressive and dynamic matches, making the event highly publicized and widely anticipated.
However, this aggression increases the risk of injuries such as dislocations, sprains, and broken bones—yet that’s part of the excitement and challenge of competing at ADCC!
In this section, I will showcase the submissions that work and those that don’t, based on the latest statistics from the ADCC 2024 competition.
